Port Bouvard Ltd is committed to delivering sustainability outcomes for both land and built form at the Point Grey town site.
These initiatives will include:
- Retention and enhancement of the natural environment and landforms, in particular the remnant trees along the ridgeline
- Protection of foreshore areas and re-establishment of vegetated buffers between the foreshore and proposed development (whilst providing for strategic public access to the foreshore)
- Creation of a safe and vibrant, socially connected community
- Implementation of total water cycle management which will reduce water abstraction by 350,000 kL/year (in comparison to the previous Concept Plan)
- Energy efficient development - including the use of alternative renewable energy supplies
- Appropriate building design to retain the ridgeline and mature trees and minimize the impact on regional open space
- Allocation of 25% of the site (approximately 80 hectares) to public and regional open space Area Calculation Plan
- Retention of nature corridors to preserve and protect local fauna
- Maintenance of visual amenity from a variety of perspectives
